01 Containment mats
A containment mat sits under the car and has raised edges to catch meltwater and drips. It covers only the parking area, so the rest of the floor stays as it is. It is the simplest and lowest cost approach.
It is easy to hose or lift out and clean.
02 Roll-out flooring
A roll covers the full width of a bay. It lays flat, trims to size and provides a continuous surface with few seams. Comfort and texture vary by product. Quality varies a lot, so check thickness and flex.
It is quick and low cost.
03 Interlocking tiles
Tiles lock together and form a rigid floor. They are more expensive than rolls but easier to replace and can form patterns. Some designs allow water to drain. The seams can trap dirt.
They suit workshops and showpieces as well as parking.
04 How to choose
If spills are the main issue, a containment mat may be enough. For full coverage with minimal effort, choose a roll. For pattern, durability and replaceability, choose tiles. For a permanent seamless look, consider a coating.
In all cases, test the slab for moisture first.
